May 28, 2015 (Kistarcsa, Hungary) – Members of the RESOURCE consortium will convene for their third international project meeting in Kistarcsa, Hungary, June 5 through 9, 2015. Following the first day of informal meeting between members, two days of workshops focusing on EU financial instruments in general and EACEA’s Europe for Citizens Programme in particular will help participants getting familiar with new funding opportunities for their ongoing and new projects. On the 4th day, a series of presentations from representatives of the Tempus Public Foundation, the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Hungarian Office for National Economic Planning will introduce and provide the latest news regarding EU financial instruments such as the Europe for Citizens Programme, Danube Region Strategy Program, and Danube Transnational Cooperation Program 2014-2020.
Project partners will also have the opportunity to make study visits sites that were reconstructed mainly from EU funds: the unique environment of historic monuments at the former royal residence in Gödöllő, host of EU Presidency events during the Hungarian Presidency in 2010; the building of a preschool in Kistarcsa that has been refitted and updated with the latest technology in energy efficiency; and the remnants of a WWII era German Nazi camp for political prisoners, Jews, and Roma, steeped in history and about to be turned into a multifunctional complex that will house a museum, the public library, and a small conference center.
The meeting will conclude with a evaluation session and discussion about the next project meeting in Warsaw, Poland.
